One of the most beautiful spas in Békés County is the Gyomaendrődi Liget Spa and Camping, which is a true paradise for beach lovers and those looking to heal. The history of the 2.4-hectare spa, hidden among the shady trees of the Erzsébet liget dates back to 1959, when construction began.
After decades of operation, significant improvements were made to it in the 1990s, including the installation of a water circulation system.
The year 2002 was a milestone in the life of the Liget Bath, as it was the beginning of the 870 million forint investment, which was used to renovate and expand the institution. In addition to the city's own resources (400 million forints), additional funds were also obtained for the transformation within the framework of the "Széchenyi Plan" and a "PHARE Program". The ceremonial handover was held on May 8, 2004, and was also attended by the country's then Prime Minister, Péter Medgyessy.
In the new, impressive indoor bath building of the building complex, guests can choose from three pools. The water depth of the 25-meter-long and 11-meter-wide swimming pool (training pool) varies, ranging from 90 to 150 centimeters. This pool, with its 27-29-degree water, also serves the purposes of school swimming lessons. The next pool is an oval-shaped, relaxation pool, in which guests can choose from five experience elements: side wall massage, neck shower, foot massage, whirlpool and jacuzzi. The water here, at 35-36 degrees, already contains some thermal water. The third pool is excellent entertainment for the little ones, and this is the paddling pool with game elements.
In addition to the pools, the indoor part of the spa also features a sauna, infrasauna, and buffet for the comfort of the guests.
The old building of the Liget spa has been renovated in terms of both size and services. Today, the most modern equipment and medical devices are available to patients. The spa's medical services are completed by the two thermal pools with medicinal water, which are 36 and 40 degrees.
Its medical department offers complete physiotherapy treatment to those wishing to recover.
In addition to rheumatology specialist appointments, we provide several spa services, supported by TB, based on our medicinal water and the knowledge and practice of our trained professionals.
The number of guests at the renewed, beautified spa is constantly increasing, more and more people are coming not only from the surrounding area, but also from more distant parts of the country to relax, unwind and heal in the Hármas-Körös-parti city and its spa.
